The Taleju temple at the Durbar Square of Kathmandu that was constructed by king Mahendra Malla in 1564 is devoted to the Taleju godess who was the protector of the Malla Dynasty.
Taleju is a form of Durga. The temple is closed for public and goes only open during the Dashain festival. The Taleju temple with almost 37 meters one of the highest in Kathmandu used to be a marking point of how high you could maximum built a building in Kathmandu.
There are also Taleju temples at the Durbar Squares of Patan and Bhaktapur
