Siddhartha Gautama known as the Buddha and by Hindus seen as the ninth reincarnation of Vishnu and by Mahayana Buddhist as the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Śvetaketu was born around the year 563 BCE in or around Lumbini Nepal as the son of King Suddhodana and Queen Mayadevi of the Śākyas a clan who ruled the area of Kapilavastu in Nepal.
