Shiva Lingam Lalitpur NepalThe Shiva Lingam that you see everywhere in Nepal is a symbol of Shiva. It represents the male and female forces. Shiva can also be represented as Ardhanarishwar who is both male and female in one.

In many temples above the Shiva Lingam that is inside the shrine, hangs a copper pot with a small hole from where water, milk, yogurt or the panchamrita which is a mix of honey, sugar, milk, yogurt and ghee drips on the Shiva lingam.
