South of Bhaktapur on a hill on the outskirts of a forrest lies the sun temple Surya Binayak. The temple is located in such a way that it catches the first rays of sunlight from the east. The Surya Binayak temple is dedicated to Ganesh. Parents who have children that start to speak very late come to this temple to ask Ganesh and the other gods for help to make their child speak.
