Pathibhara Devi Temple

The shrine of the Pathibhara Devi temple is located on a mountain at 3794 meters in the far east of Nepal. The temple is holy for Hindu's as well as Buddhists.

The godesses Pathibhara is said to make dreams come true. The myth is that sheppards suddenly lost a lot of sheep in this area and that Pathibara appeared in their dreams. She promised that the sheep would return if they would offer a few sheep to her. And so they did.

3-day snowfall at Pathibhara temple

The Pathibhara temple area in Taplejung district has received continuous snowfall for the last three days. This is the second time the area, located at an elevation of 3,794 metres, witnessed snowfall this year. Last month, snow fell in the area for two days.

Taplejung District

The Taplejung district in the North east of Nepal is home to Nepal's second highest mountain the Kanchenjunga and 14 other +7000 meters high mountains. One of the toruist highlights is the temple of Pathibhara Devi.
