Changu Narayan Temple

Vishnu's appeared as Changu Narayan in the Kathmandu Valley

On Dolagiri mountain lived the ascetic Sudarshana though a religous man he had a bit of a short temper. Though Sudarshana didn't have much posesions he was the proud owner of a brown cow.  The cow always gave enough milk. But one day while the cow was grazing suddenly a man came out of a treetrunk and start drinking the cows milk. He drunk all milk straight from the cows utters and when he was finished the man dissapeared in the tree again.


Changu Narayan Temple - Bhaktapur - Kathmandu Valley - Nepal

The Changu Narayan Temple is the oldest temple construction in the Kathmandu Valley. The pagoda style temple is beautifully located on top of a hill four kilomters north of Bhaktapur.
