Durga is one of the most importent godesses in Nepal and the center deity of the 10th day Dasain festival that is hold in september / october. During Dasain people celebrate Durga's victory (slaying) of the demon Mahishasura who chased away all the gods and godesses from heaven.
The terrifying Durga has eight arms and she rides on a tiger or a lion.
